The other day a sweet little 7th grade boy came up to my desk while they were working on homework. Here's how our conversation went down:
Boy: Mrs. Kleppe, this thing on my face (pointing to a zit by his nose) REALLY hurts! Does it look bad?
Me: No, it looks fine. I think you'll be OK.
Boy: Well, it's hurtin' real bad. I think I need to go to the nurse.
Me: Well, you're going to have to get used to that. You'll get those a lot for a while...at least until you grow up.
Boy: [with a shocked face] Are you serious?!?!?!?
Haha. Bless his heart. He has a lot of years with a lot of chances for acne coming his way. He better get used to it. :-(
