Will is 7 months old!

Our little baby is really no longer looking or acting like the same baby anymore.  He is learning so much everyday and is busy busy busy.  He just kicks and plays like crazy now and is rolling all over the place.  He is still immobile (thank you, Lord), but I know that it is just a matter of time before he is on the go and our lives will never be the same again. 

Stats:

Weight: ~24 pounds (I stood on the scale with him and without him, so this is just an estimate)

Height: ?

Yep, he's still a big big boy! Look at those thighs:

Clothes size: 9-12 months

Diapers: size 4

Likes:

-ceiling fans.  When you carry him into a room, he will often tip his head back and look for a ceiling fan because we always have ours on.  He's so heavy though that it can catch you off guard if you're not paying attention and he leans back.  :-)   

-looking at himself in them mirror.

-to chew chew chew on anything and everything.  It's especially cute when he tries to put toys that are way too big for his mouth into his mouth. 

-to be thrown in the air and to bounce on your knees/lap

-to be startled/scared ... playing peek-a-boo is one of his favorite games now, especially with daddy.  When he jumps out and scares him, he laughs SO hard.  (Mommy tries to and gets zero reaction.  Haha).

-watching and playing with his big cousins

-riding in the jogging stroller because he faces out now.

-sitting up. He totally mastered it this month!  He is so proud when he sits up too. 

Dislikes:

-to be held for too long.  He wants to get down on the floor and play play play.

-when no one is talking to him or if he stays in one spot for too long.  The boy likes action and conversation!  Who does THAT sound like?

-when he can't reach a toy that he wants.  He lays on the floor and kinda rocks but hasn't shown ANY interest in crawling just yet. 

Working on:

-Making more sounds. 

-Pushing up when he's laying on the ground onto all fours.  He's really shown no interest in crawling, but he does rock like he's trying to move, so I'm sure it's coming soon.

Typical schedule:

7:30 or 8:00-Eat 8 oz + cereal 

9:30-Nap

12:00-Eat 8 oz

2:00-Nap

4:00-Eat 8 oz + cereal/veggie

5:30-Nap (no longer than an hour)

6:30-Eat 8 oz

8:00-Eat 8 oz and BEDTIME 

Accomplishments:

-Sitting up.  His toys are are so much more interesting to him now from his new position.

-mimicking noises.  He is such a copycat, and we go back and forth back and forth. He can now blow raspberries (and spit goes all over) and he can mimick an "AHHHH!" sound too.

-Riding in shopping carts and sitting in high chairs at restaurants now that he is sitting up

-his top middle teeth came in, so now he has 4 teeth. I think another one on the bottom is about to pop through too. So. Much. Teething.

Eating:

-5 times a day (every 3.5-4 hours)

-Usually 8 oz at each feed

-This month he started waking up around 7:30, so he typically ate around 7:30, 11:30, 3:30, 6:30, and 8:00

-cereal 1-2 times a day, usually in the morning and then in the evening.

-New foods that he has really liked:  pickles, lemons, carrots, and watermelon.  He likes to just gnaw on all of them (and I think they are all just cold on his sore gums which he likes).  He really wasn't into eating pureed veggies this month, so we backed off that a little bit and we will try them again more this next month. He seemed to Iike food he could "feed" himself. Who does THAT sound like?

I promise he liked it and went back for more!

Sleeping:

-he usually goes down for "bedtime" around 8:15 or whenever he finishes his bottle at 8:00.  And then he sleeps until 7:00 or 7:30 the next morning! 

-He even slept like a champ in the car on the way to Iowa, and he slept great in St. Louis when we visited his new baby cousin, Ethan!

Important Events of the past month:

-A fun visit from Grammy and Uncle Ryan.

-First road trip:  meeting Great Grandma Dorothy, Great Aunt Becky, and cousins Alysha, Shawna, and Aaron, as well as seeing Great Uncle Bob and Aunt Kathy

-Being there for the birth of his cousin Ethan Christopher Cupp!  What a special trip!

-Another fun visit from Grandpa, Grammy, and Uncle Tyler this time.

Will, 

This month you have really changed. You are staying awake longer chunks, and you are showing your desire for independence while you play (and in your frustration to not be able to move on your own). You will be on-the-go in no time. 

The more you grow, the scarier it is to become your parent. Since you're our first kiddo, we are learning a lot by trial and error, so thank you for being so forgiving. You really are such an easy baby.

Even though parenting is one of the hardest things I've ever done, it is the best. I am so honored to be your momma. I love your sweet and sometimes bashful smiles, the way you play with my hair when I sing to you before a nap, and how you rub my hand while I'm feeding you. 

You are such a blessing, and your daddy and I are so proud of you!
