Likes:
-to chew chew chew on anything and everything. This month teething really took its toll on Will, and he ran a low grade fever for a few days and was just not himself. We gave him Tylenol, and he is wearing an Amber teething necklace (anyone have any success with it?). I know, I know he's a boy and shouldn't be wearing a necklace....to all you naysayers, you can come hold him when he's super crabby! Until then, we're wearing the necklace to see if it really helps).
-when
we sing to him, especially our songs from camp and Sunday School (it's
the only thing that calms him down in the car if he's fussy. It makes
him stop crying immediately!)
-sleeping! Those days when he felt rotten, he really slept a lot. In fact, one day he took three 2-hour naps and then slept for 12.5 hours that night! Oh my word!
-watching those crazy doggies, petting them with mommy's help, and letting them lick his toes--oh my word he loves them so much!
-bath time...especially splashing in the water, which you learned how to do this month!
-to be startled/scared ... It makes him giggle
-watching other (big) kids play
-riding in the jogging stroller because he faces out now
Dislikes:
-This month you really backed off on how much you ate, and you really didn't eat well unless we waited the full 4 hours between feedings. I think it has more to do with your discomfort from your teeth.
-when he can't get a toy into his mouth, he gets SOOO frustrated
-when no one is talking to him or if he stays in one spot for too long. The boy likes action and conversation! Who does THAT sound like?
Working on:
-sitting up on his own (he has great balance from front to back, but side to side he still slumps right over. And sometimes he face plants. Whoops)
7:30 or 8:00-Eat 8 oz + cereal
9:30-Nap
12:00-Eat 8 oz
2:00-Nap
4:00-Eat 8 oz + cereal/veggie
5:30-Nap (no longer than an hour)
6:30-Eat 8 oz
8:00-Eat 8 oz and BEDTIME
Accomplishments:
-Rolling over from tummy to back with ease. There is no such thing as tummy time anymore because he just rolls right over!
-putting all toys in his mouth, turning them around to check them out, and passing toys back and forth between hands over and over again!
-mimicking noises. He is such a copycat, and we go back and forth back and forth. He can mimick a "ughhhhh" sound and he can smack his lips like us too.
Eating:
-5 times a day (every 3.5-4 hours)
-6-8 oz at each feed
-This month he started waking up around 7:30, so he typically ate at 7:30, 11:30, 3:30, 6:30, and 8:00
-cereal 1-2 times a day, usually in the morning and then in the evening.
-we also introduced solids. He has had squash and sweet potatoes. As long as they are mixed in with his cereal, he really seems to like them.
(I've been making his baby food and it's so easy. With the push of a button, it steams and blends his food, and it's ready in 20 minutes!!)
Sleeping:
-he usually goes down for "bedtime" around 8:30 or whenever he finishes his bottle. And then he sleeps until 7:00 or 7:30 the next morning!
-He slept like a champ when we went back to Wisconsin too! He woke up one time in the night, which was the first time he's woken up in the middle of the night since the beginning of April. We weren't really sure what to do, so daddy gave him a bottle, and he went right back to sleep and then woke up at 7:00 on the dot the next morning like nothing was out of the ordinary.
Important Events of the past month:
-Going to Wisconsin to visit all the Nowkas, Kleppes, and Janssens... Will's first plane ride (he did fantastic!)
-His first outdoor family worship service at church
-First trip to the pool
-First ear infection and antibiotic (Amoxicillin)--he tolerates it, but the taste is not his favorite!
-first time swinging
-first time playing in his Exersaucer

The last 6 months have been so much fun. I love watching you learn and explore, giggle, and play. You get more fun the older you get. I love the way that you get bashful when people are talking directly to you. I love the way you snuggle in for the last bottle of the night. I love that your little feet never stop moving while you're awake. I love sneaking in to watch you sleep and seeing you sucking your thumb. Precious. Even though you are learning so much each day, I really think you are teaching me way more than I could ever teach you. You are a sweet sweet blessing, my son, and we do not take you for granted.

Eeee! What a big boy! He sounds so precious and the pictures are absolutely adorable! Love seeing how growth since Charlotte is right behind him :)
We are big into amber teething necklaces in my family. Even Leo wears one!!! They seemed to help Mollie (who has a very low pain tolerane) But no matter which way you spin it, teething sucks!!
Kelly, I love that our kiddos are so close in age. Seriously wish we lived closer!!!
Ha! Boys gotta stick together! :) I'm glad you've had success with them. We put it on Will when we didn't know he had an ear infection, and then he got an antibiotic which has made him feel better, so it's hard to know if it truly is working. Regardless, we're keeping it on.
