Will's second appointment at Centers for Children

So thankful they were able to come with me to his appointments since Daddy had to work!

Last week Will had his second ultrasound at the Centers for Children. He did so well laying there for the ultrasound technician.  He talked to her and just played with toys.  Ultrasounds only take about 15 minutes, so it's wonderful that they are painless and quick!

Then today we met with his doctor to discuss the results.  Thankfully, we got great news.  His right kidney (which is his best functioning kidney) stayed the same.  It didn't improve, which is what we were hoping for, but it also didn't get any worse, which we are extremely grateful for.  His left kidney (which drains much slower and does not function as well as his right) actually improved.

Our doctor was very optimistic but would like to continue with ultrasounds either until Will is 2 years old or until they correct themselves enough that he is no longer concerned.  Ultrasounds are only a picture in time and do not show us how the kidneys are actually performing, but they can show us whether we need to do any additional testing to check to see if the kidney function has been affected.  At this point, he does not think Will will need to have a surgical procedure done, which is also a GREAT thing!

Thank you to each of you that has prayed for Will's kidney function.  We ask that you continue to pray that the issues resolve themselves without any drastic intervention. His next ultrasound will be in 3 months!
