February Update....a little bit of everything!!!!

February can be a dreary month. Not for the Kleppes. We have been busy running, taking Bailey to obedience classes, and helping Max acclimate to the Kleppe household!

Running:
We are training for a half marathon which is in April. I only have 3 goals for the race: don't walk, don't die, and FINISH THE RACE!!! To celebrate our accomplishments so far, we ran in an 8K Valentines race. It was very cool, and we even ran through the esteemed Crystal Bridges museum (well, around the entrance). We ran the 5 miles in about 50 minutes, so we were pleased with that pace--we don't really run for time--but you know the little competitive person in me loooooooves passing people. :-)

We also ran a 5K today and finished in 28 minutes--my all time best! The race was coooooold and if that wasn't incentive enough, I knew Einstein bagels and coffee would be waiting!!

Obedience classes:
We are taking Bailey to obedience classes at Petsmart. We signed her up before we ever got Max, but unfortunately they wanted us to pay for him to attend as well, so we just learn everything in class and then teach Max at home. Both dogs are catching up. So far we have made great improvement on walking on a leash and the concept of "leave it" (which is my personal fav because it could save your dog's life at some point).

Max:
Overall, he is acclimating so well to our family. It gives me peace of mind knowing that bailey has a play mate ALL THE TIME!! They play sooo well together, even though "play" is very relative because it looks so angry to the
human eye. Haha. He's only left us a few "surprises" but overall he's house trained!!!

Kansas City weekend:
We got together with the Matt's parents in Kansas City 2 weekends ago, and risked our lives to get there....through snow and ice...a 3-hour trip that turned into 6 hours in the car.

It was totally worth it!!!! Culvers!!!!!! :-)

And what would a post be without a little update on my health:
We are still on for my next Remicade infusion on March 7th--not sure I really want to be on a stronger dose?!?! My mom has an appt in April at Mayo Clinic in Rochester--her 7-year check-up!!! Go Mom for being cancer-free for 7 years!!! I got an appointment at Mayo as well!!! I am looking forward to hearing their perspective!! :)

PLEASE PRAY FOR US FOR WISDOM AS WE DECIDE WHETHER TO CONTINUE WITH REMICADE OR IF WE NEED TO PURSUE OTHER OPTIONS (some other treatment that actually works or....surgery). I just want my life back and for UC to not rule my life. Thankfully, God is bigger than even this. He already knows what's in store and is paving the way for His will to be done. We just have to obey and walk by faith!
